KOSH Open Chess Tournament
KOSH Open was the first tournament in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district to be held by Prorec. The tournament was held in Jourbeton Ext 6 at the Catholic Church hall on the 17th November 2007.

The players were extremely honored to play on such an event. They are all looking foward for the next KOSH Open. The tournament started at 11h00 and players started at a high spirit as everyone wanted to win the tournament. Unfortunately not everyone made it for the first round. smile

The most interesting round was the 5th round, which was also the last round because only two players had 4 points. In the end the was only one player with 5 points, which is . Congradulations to you sir!

In the end the Provincial Chess Coordinator would like to thank all players that came to the event and congradulate the 20 players that will represent KOSH team.

Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Open Chess Tournament
Saturday, the 8th of March and the spirit of chess was again revived by chess players from all parts of the district at Matlwang village community hall. For the first time in the district we had ladies participating in the tournament as well. We would like to congratulate all players that made it in the top 20. We also managed to get a lady player amongst the male dominating game of chess.

The following candidates made it for the top twenty players in the district starting with the top 5 and the rest:
1. Dilima P.
2.Katsambe M.
3. Mphasa F.
4.Mopalimi D.
5.Santho P.

Matsitse S, Galo L, Teleko V, Modibedi L, Mafunyo I, Motsehe J, Letebele B, Madiehe P, Khuzwayo E, Diamond F, Pholo D, Moeng P, Mkhuma T, Selemela T.

Just a quick reminder to all players and chess fans: “chess is a game whereby the objective is to crush your opponent’s mind” These were the immortal words of the late former world chess champion, Bobby Fischer. We would also like to encourage all players to improve their chess skills by recording their chess games so that they can later see where they went wrong. This could be the major step you will be taking towards becoming a better player.
